Copperstate! I met Paul "Rosie" Rosales at 9500' over Banning this morning, and Rosie and his buddy Dave (award winning Giles G-202) showed up right on time. We flew as a 3-ship formation and hooked up with Chuck Miller (RV-8A) over Blythe, and flew the rest of the way to A39 as a 4-ship. Good time.

I had never been to an EAA sanctioned fly-in event before, so being at Copperstate was a first for me. It might be the last time I go to Copperstate as well. All the sun, heat, and dust. Ugh.

I still had a good time, though, and I snapped a whole mess of photos.

Bruce Bohannon...cool...

To think I almost built a Kitfox. Wow.

I have a soft spot for the BD-5. I don't think I'd ever build one, but I love the look of that little friggin' thing.

I'm glad I got a chance to see the RV-10 up close, because it confirmed that I have no desire to build one. I'm not knocking it for what it is, but I'm more into the smaller, sportier stuff at this point. I can forego the cavernous capacity in exchange for more fun.
